Saudi Embassy in Australia participated in the Flower Festival with “Taif Roses”
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Australia participated in the annual Floriade Festival, held in the Australian capital, Canberra.
This occasion is one of the largest cultural events in Australia; It has more than 500,000 visitors.
The embassy’s participation this year in a cultural pavilion was to introduce the “Taif rose” and its products and methods of manufacture forced.
the Saudi embassy focused this year on the extent to which roses are linked to the culture of the Kingdom, especially the Taif region.
This occasion was also used to promote Saudi tourism, culture, and arts, and to highlight commercial and investment opportunities, especially in the field of Taif roses.
The Kingdom’s pavilion was very well received by Australian officials, diplomats, and visitors of different nationalities, who expressed their admiration for what was displayed during this occasion.

اقام سعادة سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى استراليا مساعد بن ابراهيم السليم ، حفل استقبال اليوم في العاصمة الاسترالية كانبرا ، بمناسبة اليوم الوطني الـ 92 للمملكة العربية السعودية، بحضور حشد من كبار الشخصيات السياسية والبرلمانية والأكاديمية والمسؤولين الأستراليين والسفراء المعتمدين لدى أستراليا ورؤساء وممثلو الجامعات والهيئات والمراكز الإسلامية والعربية بأستراليا والمواطنين المقيمين في العاصمة كانبرا.
بدأ الحفل الذي افتتحه السفير السليم ورئيسة البروتوكول المكلفة في وزارة الخارجية الاسترالية صوفي نايت بالسلام الملكي السعودي والنشيد الوطني لاستراليا، وتبادل التهاني والتمنيات لكلا البلدين الصديقين.
واستعرض السفير مساعد السليم في كلمته التي القاها خلال الحفل معاني اليوم الوطني وتاسيس المملكه وقال “هذا اليوم يحمل خلفة قصة كفاح طويلة وعمل دؤوب وجاد بدأ مع مؤسس المملكة وباني نهضتها الملك عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود –طيب الله ثراه- . حتى العهد الميمون لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود وولي عهده الأمين صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير محمد بن سلمان – حفظهما الله-“؛ واشاد السفير السليم بالانجازات التي حققتها رؤية المملكه 2030 في المجالات الاقتصادية والاستثمارية والتنمويه وعلى الصعد كافه، وعرض مراحل الشراكه والتطور الايجابي للعلاقات السعوديه الاسترالية لما فيه خير الشعبين والبلدين الصديقين. وتضمن الحفل عرض مرئي عن العلاقات الثنائية وتطور النهضه العمرانية والاقتصاديه والاستثمارات المشتركة والمساهمة في المشاريع الجديدة التي تضمنتها رؤية المملكة 2030.
Saudi Embassy in Canberra celebrates Kingdom’s 92nd National Day
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Australia, H.E Mesaad bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaim hosted a reception on Friday 23rd of September 2022 on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 92nd National Day.
The event, held at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra, was attended by many dignitaries, including Australian government officials, members of parliament, academics, diplomats, Arab and Muslim community members, and Saudi students and business people.
The event started with the national anthems of Saudi Arabia and Australia and the exchange of congratulations and wishes of both friendly countries by the Ambassador Al-Sulaim and the Acting Chief of Protocol at Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Sophie Knight.
In a speech during a ceremony to mark the occasion, Ambassador to Australia, H.E Mesaad bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaim highlighted the Kingdom’s march throughout its history until the current prosperous era of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Ambassador Al-Sulaim praised the achievements of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in the economic, investment and development, and emphasizing the importance of the Saudi Arabia relationship with Australia.
These relations have strengthened over time. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations to present, a number of high-level visits and important meetings have taken place, which culminated in the signing of more than 13 bilateral agreements. Those support further cooperation and sharing of experiences in areas of common interest. Ambassador Al -Sulaim Said
The ceremony included a visual presentation on bilateral relations, the development of urban and economic renaissance, joint investments, and contribution to new projects included in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia celebrates ‘Year of Saudi Coffee at the University of Canberra
Saudi Arabia’s initiative designating 2022 as “Year of Saudi Coffee” spilled over at its pavilion at the the University of Canberra , Australia , as part of “Moonlit Markets “ event of the inaugural week-long multicultural celebration known as Cross-Culture on 1st and 2 September , 2022.
The Saudi Coffee pavilion presented the importance and status of coffee in Saudi society, with its different types, flavors and tastes, as these types represent multiple regions of the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s most coffee consuming countries, and is currently striving to achieve self-sufficiency in Khawlani coffee beans and raising its economic return, with the aim of contributing to raising the non-oil GDP.
Saudi Embassy In Canberra Celebrates 91st National Day
The Saudi Embassy in Canberra celebrated the Kingdom’s of Saudi Arabia 91st National Day, On this special day, Saudi Ambassador to Australia, Mesaad bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaim, outline some of the kingdom’s long-term goals.
Vision 2030
Introduced in 2016, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has stated this initiative’s targets merely form the initial phase of transformation necessary to enable Saudi over the coming decades “to grow and to prosper and to compete at the world level,” he said.
Furthermore, he is already looking towards 2040, when the focus of the transformation shifts from enabling to achieving global competitiveness.
Meanwhile, in October Saudi Arabia will host the inaugural Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) and The Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) in Riyadh. Both are aimed at reversing environmental degradation and climate change. Intended to reshape its economy, they “provide an ambitious roadmap for the kingdom and region to confront the generational challenge and meet worldwide emissions targets,” the ambassador said.
The goals include raising vegetation cover, reducing carbon emissions, combating pollution and land degradation, and preserving marine life.
COVID-19 response
“The Kingdom pledged $500 million to support global efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic and urged other countries and organisations to help bridge an $8 billion financing gap,” ambassador Al-Suleim said.
They also allocated “$150 million to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness and Innovation, $150 million to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations, and $200 million to other health organisations and programmes.”
Recently the kingdom also pledged $5.3 million to provide coronavirus vaccines for 22 developing countries to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tourism
As soon as travel back into Australia is normalised the ambassador invites you to visit Saudi Arabia.
“Saudi Arabia offers geographical and historical diversity, highlighting natural resources, archaeological treasures and historical places that meet the aspirations of tourists,” he said.
The authority has prepared programs to attract tourism, and has been activating tourism investment and the role of the private sector.
Saudi-Australia relations
The ambassador said that Australia and Saudi Arabia’s friendly relationship is underpinned by commercial ties and shared membership in the G20. This is complemented by Australia’s engagement with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which are both headquartered in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is an important trading partner in the Middle East region for Australia, but the ambassador also said there is significant potential for economic ties to grow, given our areas of mutual interest such as in agriculture, mining services, education and construction.
Vision 2030 also provides opportunities for Australian business in priority sectors. “Saudi Arabia’s needs are well suited to Australian capabilities,” he said.

Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Australia Mesaad Ibrahim Alsulaim said in a press release Statement Friday “the findings of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ report “leaves no doubt for the international community about Iran’s hostile intentions towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular, and not only targeting Saudi Arabia, but also the international economic system.
“Iran continues to pose a major threat to the future of the region and its identity by using sectarian militias and provoking devastating civil wars. The Houthi militia has carried out 1,659 attacks on civilians in the Kingdom and launched 318 ballistic missiles all provided by Iran against the cities and villages of the Kingdom”.
“We urge the international community to impose sanctions on Iran’s missile program as well as its nuclear program. The nuclear agreement is weak and yet Iran continues to violate it, and the world must stand firmly against Iran’s terrorist policies. Iran must be held accountable for their aggressive behavior and for trying to destabilize the region , the Ambassador add in press statement .
Saudi Ambassador Inaugurates Saudi Cultural Activities in Canberra.
On Saturday 22 February 2020, The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Australia His Excellency Mr Mesaad Ibrahim AL Sulaim and ACT Minister for Multicultural Affairs Chris Steel, MLA, inaugurated a series of Saudi cultural activities, held at the annual National Multicultural Festival (NMCF) in the Capital Canberra .
Ambassador AL Sulaim and Minister Steele toured the Kingdom Pavilion at the festival. The Ambassador stressed the importance of participating in international cultural events to introduce the ancient culture of Saudi Arabia, which reflects the extent of development that has reached it throughout history. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Australian Minister OF Multicultural Affairs , Australian officials, Arab and foreign ambassadors, and community members who visited the Saudi pavilion and expressed friendly expressions of friendship with the Kingdom of Saudi arabia and its people, also express thanks to members of the Saudi culture Mission and Saudi students who participating in the events.
The Saudi Stalls was visited by huge number of interested Australians in addition to politicians and dignitaries from the International and Arab diplomatic corps.
This year, the Embassy focused on the Saudi Arabia’s presidency of the G20 in Riyadh this year and offers on tourism in the Kingdom through the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, which attracted the attention of the festival’s audience.
The Stall showcased the rich and vibrant Saudi culture and heritage and introduced the traditional Saudi Hospitality , by offering the Stalls visitors Arabic coffee, dates and Saudi pastries.
Also Saudi folkloric Group performance shows on the Festival Stage and took part in a parade that officially launched the Festival.
Saudi Arabia stands with Australia in fighting bushfires

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud has affirmed that Saudi Arabia stands with Australia in difficult conditions in the face of current forest fires.
During a telephone call today to Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman expressed the readiness of his country to provide assistance to Australia to help overcomes this disaster, the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, reported.
The King expressed his condolences to the Prime Minister and families of the deceased, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. He also said that the Kingdom and its people share with the Australian people feelings of pain as a result of this disaster.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Australia celebrates the launch of the tourist visa
Canberra 29-9-2019 – Under the title “Welcome to the World” the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Australia held a reception party in Canberra today to celebrate the launching of the new Saudi Arabia Tourist E-visa scheme for 49 countries, including Australia.
The event was attended by a number of Australian Government officials and dignitaries, as well as a number of journalists, tourism representatives and businessmen in Australia.
Addressing the gathering, the Saudi ambassador to Australia Musaed bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaim said in his speech that the Kingdom is opening its doors to the world. “We welcome people and businessmen in this sector, where major investment opportunities are available to invest in tourism in order to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”
