Ambassador Al Saleh guest of honour at the Victorian Launch at the Australia Saudi Business Council in Melbourne .

His Excellency Mr Nabil Mohammed A. AL SALEH, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was guest of honour at the Victorian Launch of the Australia Saudi Business Council in Melbourne .
Council Chairman, Mr Tom Harley said: “It’s great that the formation of the Council coincides with the appointment of His Excellency Mr Nabil Saleh. We see a great future working together to deepen the commercial and cultural relations between both countries,” Mr Harley said.
The Hon. Gordon Rich-Phillips MLC Minister for Technology and Minister responsible for Aviation attended the launch along with a large number of senior business representatives.
“Saudi is Australia’s second largest market in the Middle East and is a substantial market for passenger vehicles, agricultural products including live animals, dairy products, vehicle parts and accessories, as well as a growing market for fresh vegetables, refined metals and information communications technology products. There is also scope for the expansion of financial services trade between the two countries
“A large number of Saudi students are choosing to study in Australia, mostly under the King Abdullah Scholarship Program and the launch also generated a lot of interest among education providers. The King Abdullah Scholarship is on its own transforming the relationship between our two countries,” Mr Harley said.

The Australia Saudi Business Council Inc. was established to develop and promote business and commercial links between Australia and Saudi Arabia. Its secondary aim is to establish, promote, facilitate or participate in joint business councils or other joint business organisations in partnership with the Association of Saudi Chambers of Commerce or other Saudi business organisations.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd receives Ambassador Al Saleh

Canberra, Jul 13, 2013

The Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd received the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Australia Nabil bin Mohammed Al Saleh at the Lodge in Canberra, Australia. During the meeting, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed boosting the growing relations between the two countries. The Ambassador also passed on the well wishes and greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin AbdulAziz, the Crown Prince, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Salman Bin AbdulAziz, the Second Deputy Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al Faisal to the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and the people of Australia.

On his part, the Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd passed on his thanks and well wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi people. Mr Rudd also expressed his gratitude towards the growing bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Australia.

Saudi Ambassador Presents Credentials to Governor-General of Australia
Canberra – 28 June 2013
Newly-appointed ambassador Nabeel bin Mohammed Al Saleh presented his credentials as Saudi ambassador-designate to Australia to the Governor-General of Australia Her Excellency the Honourable Quentin Bryce during a reception at the headquarters of the Governor-General in the Australian capital of Canberra.
During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, to the Governor-General of Australia, the leadership and government of the people of the friendly country of Australia.
The ambassador confirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance friendly relations with Australia.
For its part, the Governor-General expressed welcome of the ambassador, wishing him every success.

Ambassador visits Saudi Patients in Sydney Hospitals

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Australia Nabil bin Mohammed Al Saleh welcomed the visit of Dr Abdel Aziz Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary General for Negotiations and Strategic Dialogue, of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to Australia. The visit was made to assess areas of the greatest potential for cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Australia.
Ambassador Al Saleh stressed the importance of strengthening dialogue between the GCC and Australia on strategic, economic, trade, political and cultural relations.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade DFAT hosted a welcome dinner for Dr Abdel Aziz Aluwaisheg in Canberra, in the presence of Ambassador Al saleh, GCC Ambassadors in Australia and a number of senior DFAT officials.
During the meeting the sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations between Australia and GCC, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
The senior DFAT official highlighted the importance of a free trade agreement (FTA) with the (GCC) by saying it would strengthen and enhance the economic and trade relationship between the two sides. The DFAT official also praised the active role of the GCC in the promotion of regional and global stability.

The Ambassador of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques to Australia, H.E Mr Nabil Al Saleh, has paid a visit to the Saudi Cultural Attaché Office in Canberra.At the office, he was received by the Cultural Attaché to Australia Dr. Abdulaziz BinTaleb, and the attaché Directors and Staff.

The Ambassador toured all sections of the Attaché Offices and was briefed on the various services offered to students on scholarship.The Ambassador appreciated the services provided by the office to Saudi students and thanked the Cultural Attaché for the great care they provide to the education of Saudi students in Australia.The Ambassador expressed his admiration of the building features and the equipment available to providing the highest level of services to the students.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency the Ambassador stated that his visit to the cultural attaché was a reflection of the commitment and care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, to the education of all saudi students .

The Ambassador stressed that the work and commitment of all the members of the Embassy and the cultural attaché in Australia was highly valued and appreciated. Their work is necessary to ensure that full support is provided to both male and female Saudi students to help them succeed in all fields.

Welcoming the New Saudi Ambassador in Australia

Ambassador Nabil Al Saleh arrived in Canberra to take up his official duties as the New Saudi Arabia Ambassador in Australia.

He was welcomed upon arrival at the Canberra Airport by the Foreign Affairs Chief of Protocol Sally Mansfield, Deputy Ambassador Reda bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Nuzha, the Saudi cultural attaché Dr Abdul Aziz bin Talib, the Arab ambassadors in Australia and the members of the Saudi embassy and cultural attaché.

Upon his arrival, Ambassador Al Saleh said, “I would like to express my great pleasure in the confidence of the Saudi leadership in assigning  me as the ambassador to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Australia, and I’m honoured in serving my country’s interests in Australia.

I pray to the Almighty God that I fulfil the expectations of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and to do my best to serve the people of Saudi Arabia including the students on scholarships in Australian universities.

I would like to assure that the doors of the embassy will remain open to all Saudi Arabian Citizens and  students. We will provide to the best of our ability all the facilities and the support we can to help them achieve all their goals while here in Australia.”

I am also pleased to praise the current bilateral relationship between Saudi Arabia and Australia and I am committed and look forward to further developing this relationship in all fields”.

Biography of Ambassador Nabil Al Saleh

His Excellency Nabil Muhammad Al Saleh was appointed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz as Ambassador to Australia in 2013.  Ambassador Al Saleh holds a Masters in Business Administration from the United States, has assumed several positions including: Director of the Office of State for Economic and Cultural Affairs in 1990, Director of the Economic Research Unit in London from 1990 to 1994 and the Consul General of the Kingdom in Geneva 2004 -2012.

Ambassador Al Saleh also participated in many international conferences, and joint committees for bilateral economic and cultural cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arab and many other countries, where he was a member of the delegation of the Kingdom in many of them, he also participated twice in sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as the Non-Aligned movement Summit and the Peace Conference in Madrid.

Saudi Arabia-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission Joint Communiqué

The ninth meeting of the Saudi Arabia-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) was held in Canberra on the 22nd of  March 2013 [10 Jumada Al-Ula 1434H]. The Commission was co-chaired by the Saudi Minister for Agriculture, His Excellency Dr Fahd Abdurahman Balghunaim and the Australian Minister for Trade and Competitiveness, Dr Craig Emerson. Dr Balghunaim also held discussions with his Australian counterpart, Senator Joe Ludwig, on agriculture issues on the 21st of March.

The Saudi delegation headed by Minister of Agriculture Dr. Fahd Balghunaim arrived Perth Airport in Western Australia was received by Saudi Charge D’affaires to Australia and New Zealand Reda bin Abdulmohsen Al-Nuzha.
The Kingdom’s delegation includes Director General of Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization Eng. Walid Al-Khuraiji, Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information for Foreign Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Saleh bin Salama, The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture for Fisheries Affairs Eng. Jaber Bin Mohammed Al-Shihri, Undersecretary Assistants of the Ministry of Agriculture for livestock affairs Dr Khaled Bin Mohammed Alfheed and a number of representatives of the ministries, governmental institutions, and businessmen.

Dr Emerson and Dr Balghunaim welcomed the friendly relations between Australia and Saudi Arabia, underpinned by substantial and long-standing economic relations. The JMC meeting, the first held since 2006, presented an important opportunity for discussions on re-invigorating and expanding trade, investment and commercial ties, including in agriculture, manufactures, education, energy and resources.

Ministers highlighted the importance of the private sector to expansion of the economic relationship. They welcomed the signing at the JMC meeting of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Australia-Saudi Business Council and the Council of Saudi Chambers establishing the Saudi-Australia Joint Business Council. Ministers noted also the opportunity presented by the JMC for business-to-business engagement.

The JMC meeting was supported by four officials-level working group meetings held on 21 March and covering: trade and investment; agriculture and food security; education and training; and energy and resources.

Saudi Arabian Embassy Celebrates 82nd National Day

The Charge D’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Australia, H. E. Reda Al-Nuzha held a reception at the Hayat Hotel in Canberra on the occasion of the 82 National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia .

The ceremony was attended by a crowd of public and political figures, members of the House of Representatives and the Federal Senate of Australia, Ambassadors from Arab, Islamic and foreign Countries, accredited in Canberra, as well as Arab and Muslim communities representatives in Australia.

The guests of the celebration where received by the Saudi Arabia’s chargé d’affaires Reda Al-Nuzha, The Saudi Consul  in Canberra Dr Hassan Alansari, Mr. Faisal Ghazi Hifzi First Secretary,Saudi  Culture  attaché Abdul-Aziz  Bin Taleb .

The ceremony began with the Australian and Saudi National Anthem then the chargé D’Affaires of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia H.E. Reda Al-Nuzha and the Chief of Protocol Sally Mansfield, exchanged the warmest congratulations and best wishes for both countries.

Messages of the Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Foreign Minister Bob Carr were read on the occasion, underlined the strength and depth of Australia -Saudi Arabia relations.

Prime Minister Gillard Values  Australia Saudi cooperative relationship, “Australia greatly values its friendly and cooperative relationship with Saudi Arabia, underpinned by our shared commitment to peace, stability and development in the Middle East. Australia also values its close cooperation with Saudi Arabia in key international bodies, including the United Nations and the G20.” MP Said in her Message.

The Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr, praised in his message the Kingdom leaderships standing in the world and the positive development of bilateral relations shared between the two countries on regional and international level, noting in particular the cooperation in the Group of Twenty and other international forums to serve the issues of stability, peace and development in the world.

In his part the Charge D’Affaires convey his best wishes and congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Government and Saudi people .

Mr Nuzha expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Australian officials and Australian people towards the Kingdom, leadership and Saudi people on the occasion of National Day , which reflects the growing and positive development in Saudi- Australian relations.
